it was a great house, modern and updated. The view was fantastic

From the moment we arrived we felt pampered. The cabin was spotlessly clean and little extras for Valentines Day had been set out (candy buckets, heart covered towels, pillows, blankets, etc). The views were nothing short of spectacular, particularly sunrise. There are other cabins around but we still felt very private. Instructions were super clear for trash removal, operating the hot tub, checking out, etc. Aside from food, the cabin had absolutely everything we needed and then some. We will definitely be coming back.

The squatch nest was wonderful and exactly what we were looking for. Gorgeous Mountain View’s, comfortable beds, great amenities. We are definitely planning to come again. Warning to those driving up in the dark - Apple Maps does not take you to the right address and the road spilts multiple times. The instructions given are clear but make sure you pay very close attention to them.

Mitch was a wonderful host, we enjoyed staying at the cabin, the views were amazing and the hot tub was fantastic!

We had a great experience staying here! The host was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout, even though everything went smoothly. The cabin was spotless, which is something we’re always mindful of when booking dog-friendly places, and it felt very new and well cared for. Everything was exactly as described, and the views were truly incredible. Highly recommend!

The place was great and very impressed with the quick support from Mitch and team when we had trouble getting in. This team was very attentive and would stay with them again hands down. Note when visiting, google maps took us past the house into a gravel road. The house is one a paved road so if you get to gravel, turn around and retrace! (I hope this helps someone). That said the view is incredible and the kids loved the hot tub, golden tee, and spacious basement! Great spot.

We had a great, comfortable stay. The place is lovely with all the windows, as long as you don't mind not having curtains in the living areas. The hot tub was great, wonderful after hiking, but the jets aren't very strong. The fire pit is nice for roasting marshmellows , but the fire wood isn't covered, so all of the top wood is moist and doesn't light, get the wood from the bottom. We found the beds comfortable and the shower was great. My suggestions: stop at a supermarket on the way to the cabin. Don't drive after dark, there are many tight turns, with no lights so it's hard to see where the narrow road ends in a cliff drop on the side. Also the super narrow steep road is actually for two way traffic, with very few areas to move to the side in order for the other car to pass. We were terrified going up at night when we arrived, so we made sure to always be back before sundown. Make sure there is a good , careful driver in your party. There are other cabins around.

So glad we got the opportunity to stay in this beautiful cabin. The view from the porch is one that’s found in a magazine. The Cabin was clean and the host was very accommodating. We will definitely be back!

Die Blockhütte ist wunderschön, geräumig und super gemütlich. Leider hatten wir in den Bergen sehr schlechtes Wetter, die Blockhütte hat uns aber den Aufenthalt gerettet. Whirlpool, gemütliches Wohnzimmer, Arcadespiel für die Kinder und Papa - einfach alles super. Dabei erfüllt die sehr neue Hütte auch gehobenere Ansprüche, ohne den Charme eine rustikalen Hütte zu verlieren. Absolute Empfehlung.

We were only here for two nights but the views from the inside and out are stunning. All the things you need on the inside and really a comfortable, pleasant getaway.

I wish we could rate higher than a five. It was absolutely beautiful. It was serene, calm, and breathtaking. You felt like you were in the middle of nowhere, but you could actually order DoorDash! It made us laugh so hard. Thinking about what we would change about the cabin when we left, the only thing that we could think of is it would have been great to have one of the small dorm refrigerators on the first floor. The hot tub is there, the fire pit is there, the large TV is there, the arcade is there — we found ourselves spending so much time down there and going up and down the stairs to get something to drink from the kitchen. But that was a stretch to think of anything we will change at all.

We loved Mitch's place, it was absolutely beautiful, beds were siuper comfortable and the view was unmatched to other places we've stayed in NC. Loved the jacuzzi overlooking the mountain and REALLY enjoyed the firepit all evening long listing to music. Mitch leaving firewood was very much appreciated! Oh yeah, and my husband's telling me to mention the big screen TV downstairs so they could watch the game, he and my son. I am glad we had our Toyota 4Runner because it is very steep going up the mountain. Seriously, no joke. Highly recommend this place and we will definitely be back! Thanks Mitch!

This is 1st time at the Squatch Nest. Stayed at 3 dogs Night last year and had to check this out. Did not disappoint. the views were incredible, lots of amenities. We went to let the world melt away, mission accomplished. Hosts were very friendly and responsive, we will definitely be back for a visit when we can.

Beautiful view of the mountains, especially first thing in the morning. Close to lots of activities and things to do in Bryson City and Cherokee. The road up is a bit hairy, but that’s the price you pay for the view, and nothing our Subaru couldn’t handle. The little smores kit was a thoughtful touch. I wish we had time to have made use of the fire pit. Really enjoyed our stay.

This home exceeded our expectations. It was beautifully furnished, spacious, and exceptionally clean—so much so that I felt comfortable walking barefoot throughout. The hot tub was ready upon arrival and provided a relaxing experience. The kitchen was thoughtfully stocked with cookware, utensils, and even spices, and we enjoyed grilling steaks one evening. Every detail felt intentional and welcoming down to the s'mores kit. We’re already planning our next stay. Thank you, Mitch can't wait to return!

We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at this cabin. The cabin itself is very new and beautifully done. As you can see from the pictures, the view is amazing. Very thoughtfully stocked with everything you might need including an ample supply of firewood. Mitch was extremely responsive, even reaching out to us immediately when we briefly lost power during a thunderstorm. The cabin is a short drive from Nantahala rafting and also downtown Bryson City and the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Enjoyed three days hiking the AT. The Squach Nest was within 30 minutes of three different trail heads. Enjoyed the views, hot tub after long hikes, and dinner at Pasqualino’s and Bryson City Brewery.

We had a wonderful stay at the Squatch Nest - such a clever theme! The house is incredibly clean and nicely decorated.. it has everything you need for a perfect mountain weekend! The personal touches and amenities were truly appreciated - ample firewood, smore and firestarter kit + fresh coffee beans, board games + arcade game, lovely sitting areas on the deck and near the firepit. The kitchen is also very well stocked with clean dishes and cooking ware. The sunrise and evening views will be hard to beat! After long days hiking we looked forward to relaxing back at the cabin. We would recommend to anyone visiting GSMNP and Bryson City!

Our family was traveling back from the beach to Kentucky and decided for an overnight stay in the mountain rather than a hotel. What a good choice! The cabin was in an amazing location and had breathtaking views. Instructions were clear to get to the cabin and the stay was fantastic!

After making it up the mountain to the amazing view. The house was stunning. Very quiet. We got a little lost but they helped us back down the mountain but it was our error since we listened to the gps instead of the instructions that were given. Hot tub was clean and was amazing to relax after a long day! Would recommend.

We had a great stay at Mitch’s place. The view from the cabin was beautiful and we could see Bryson City’s 4th of July fireworks from the deck. We were perfectly situated to access all of our favorite things to do in the area: visiting NOC, floating Deep Creek and grabbing a beer at Bryson City Brewing. After we changed our britches from the drive up the mountain to get to this cabin, yes it's steep and narrow, we were welcomed to a group of 3 cabins facing opposite directions. When we went up our cabin stairs, you can't help but walk straight onto the upper deck and look at the breathing taking view even before unlocking the door to go inside. Portions of both decks are secluded where neighbors are unable to see you, which made us feel like the mountain was all ours. Pictures can't capture how beautiful the view is, especially at sunset, and how cozy the cabin is. The small added details and welcome basket with everything to make s'mores was delightful. Mitch and his team were quick to respond with any questions I had. Grocery store is about 15 mins away, Bryson City downtown is about 20 mins away, and Cherokee is roughly 40 mins away. This was a great getaway for my boyfriend and myself! Thank you again to Mitch and his team for sharing this beautiful place with us!

Beautiful cabin. Beautiful views off of the back deck. Clean. Well stocked. Beware of major potholes and narrow roads driving to the cabin. It wasn’t as secluded as we had hoped, there are other cabins close by, one can been seen directly as you are getting in and out of the hot tub. No blackout curtains in the bedrooms, so bring a sleeping mask to help with light coming into the room. The main floor bed was not very comfortable, the room is small and light comes into the room from the cabin across the street making it hard to sleep. Other than this, it was beautiful.

We had an amazing stay at the cabin! The mountain view is unmatched. Cabin was clean, well stocked. Hot tub worked great. Fire pit was perfect, love that they included firewood for us to use. Very comfortable beds. Of note, paved road up to the cabin has lots of twists, turns, elevation gain, and ruts. We would not consider this beginner motorcycle friendly but is do-able if you are an experienced rider.

The place was very clean with a beautiful view. We woke up to the sunrise and went to sleep with the sun set. We missed out on the jacuzzi and campfire but it’s definitely a must for next time. We spent our night watching tv downstairs and taking pictures together on the balcony. We would %100 recommend this place as it is a warm welcoming family/friend environment.

This is a cozy, A-Frame cabin that looks out over Bryson City. It has nice interior and outdoor spaces to enjoy the mountains. It was very quiet and peaceful. The hot tub was clean and ready when we arrived. We found games and supplies for making s'mores inside. There was an abundance of firewood outback for a fire. We had a pleasant stay.

Mitch made us feel right at home in this beautiful home. Great proactive communication. Incredibly beautiful views that you need to see to believe. The home appears to be new and is such a relaxing change of pace to get away from the hustle bustle to decompress. Loved our stay, the home, the surroundings and only 15 minutes to grocery stores and Bryson City restaurants. The road is steep but unlike many other locations…. is paved with ample turnouts all along the way. The view from the top is your reward you need to see to truly appreciate. Worth every penny!

We loved the Squatch Nest! The cabin was beautiful, very comfortable and clean. Views were spectacular! We would definitely come back. One thing to note is This cabin is at the very top of the mountain on a very step and windy one lane road. Go slow, have your copilot look for vehicles up ahead. There are a few spots to pull over so two cars can pass or pull into closest driveway and wait for uphill vehicles to pass. 4 Wheel drive is recommended and to arrive in daylight so you can find it easier. Recommend hitting the grocery store before you arrive.

We needed a place to stay last minute. This was a great cabin! It is at the top of a mountain with views on both sides. It was a nice place to stay.

This cabin was so nice and beautiful!! The views were the best I have ever seen! The cabin is very new, The mountain is steep and 4×4 is HIGHLY RECOMMEND! especially in the winter months. Make sure you have all of your supplies because going up and down the mountain is tricky. however is there is a grocery store nearby about 15 mins from the cabin if you do need something. The beds are great for one person, but you put another person you both sink to the middle and you are touching each other, this might be ok for some, but I thought I would mention this, but GREAT getaway from crazy life!! HIGHLY recommend!!! Mitch is a very good host with great communication! Would definitely stay again!!

This cabin is beautiful -- brand new and very comfortable. We had everything we needed for a lovely getaway. The drive up is not for the faint of heart: steep and lots of switchbacks, which was very tricky to navigate on our way out, when it was snowy and icy. Other than that, this was the perfect stay!

The house was beautiful and located in a very quite beautiful location. The cabin was very clean beds was very comfortable We had no issues at check in and anytime I needed to ask a question Mitch was alway quick to respond. Will definitely keep this cabin in mind for our next trip.

Our family had such a wonderful time at this cabin! It was spotless when we arrived and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The views were stunning, even on a rainy day! We loved exploring the nearby hikes, which featured beautiful waterfalls and scenic trails. Honestly, we didn’t want to leave, but we would happily come back again. Mitch was fantastic—super responsive and quick to answer any questions we had. The only small note (which didn’t bother us but may be worth mentioning) is that there were quite a few ladybugs inside. Overall, a perfect getaway!

Simple way to put this if anyone does read this. If you are looking to get away and not think about work, not be bothered by people and be in your own world, don't look any further. This place is the perfect spot. My boyfriend and Myself recently stayed here and was a super nice experience. Really quiet, super clean, and such an amazing getaway spot. My boyfriend did not want to leave to come home haha. It is really your own getaway paradise. From big screen tvs inside, to a beautiful view of the smokies, to making bbq chicken and steaks on the outside weber grill, it is amazing! Local grocery store is not far away either. The Squatch Nest was the perfect getaway for our 16th wedding anniversary. The house was so clean and cozy and had gorgeous views of downtown Bryson City (which is a little gem in itself). The view is phenomenal and sitting by the fire with that view makes makes for such a memorable evening, and the s’mores gift was such a great touch. Luxury, Insane Views, & Unmatched Vibes! This was a spontaneous fly fishing trip. If you visit, definitely do it! We grilled out (the rainbow trout we caught fly fishing by the way) on the upper level wrap around deck watching the sunset with a picturesque Mountain View that is so spectacular it’s hard to articulate. You just have to see it to appreciate it! After dinner we started a fire in the fire pit, which was fully stocked with wood. We used the smore kit, which was a perfect little gift that was left for us by the host. The night was so magical, we just didn’t want to go inside, so we took advantage of the second level deck’s hot tub. Cool, crisp mountain air, fire pit, glass of wine, under the stars, mother natures’ orchestra, with your person - TALK ABOUT VIBES! Plus this cabin is modern and luxurious & it’s immaculate! And the host went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience! We will definitely be returning in a few weeks to see those beautiful fall leaves!
